Ohio Caravan is on the Move

Hello Again!

Next week will be busy for some of our Ohio people! We are making arrangements for our "Road Trip" to Supreme Session in St. Louis, Missouri. The Ohio Messenger Team (Elizabeth, Ashley, Jessica, Alexis, Angela and Celeste)have been practicing hard for their competetion at Supreme in the Ritual Competition. They also have been making several appearances at local Masonic Lodges and Eastern Star meetings performing the Story of Job. For some of these girls, it will be their first time ever going to a Supreme Event and I am sure they are excited. Please make sure to wish these girls "Good Luck" and let them know your supporting them!!!!

Supreme Session is a very exciting event. It is very busy and you meet a lot of people from other states and countries. Yes, Brazil, Philippines, Canada and Australia are always will represented! It is very interesting talking with the people and discovering how their Bethels function.

For District 1, please do not forget about the 14 District Masonic Picnic on August 7 at Highbanks Park North of Columbus. We have volunteered to be in charge of the Kid Zone at this event. Our OMJD Elizabeth is working to put together some events for the children. If you have any ideas, please send your ideas to Elizabeth. For more information, see the 14 District Masonic website.

Also, just a FYI, our Masons at Avery Lodge #493 is having an Ice Cream Social at Avery Lodge on August 6 from 2 to 6pm. They are accepting pie donations from anyone who would be willing to donate. The cost is $5.00 for ice cream and pie. Come and enjoy a day of friendship with our Masons outdoors.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Ohio Messenger and their summer! Remember Job a Rama is just around the corner.

Well, I am closing for now. Will report more later.

Meet our Grand Bethel Honored Queen!

Hi everyone!  My name is Ashley and I am so excited to be your Grand Bethel Honored Queen this year!  I am a Past Honored Queen of Bethel #69 in Gahanna.  I go to Big walnut High School. At school I'm in choir, Drama club, color guard and am going to be taking my fourth year of German.  I love to read; mostly fantasy and love.  I have a brother that I love dearly.  I love being in Job's and it's something that I will be involved in even after I reach majority.

Hope to see you all in my travels,
Ashley

Meet our Ohio Miss Congeniality!

So a little about me. My name is Celeste and I am a PHQ and current HQ of Bethel #45 in Hilliard.  I attend Hilliard Darby High School where I am in the Concert Orchestra.  Outside of school, I do Figure Skating, Girl Scouts, and of course: Job's! I also enjoy reading fantasy books and watching t.v.  My mom works at Cardinal Health and my Dad works at the Port Columbus Airport.  My sister, Alyssa, is a Job's Daughter as well and enjoys reading a lot.  I'm always available if anyone needs a friend to talk to.

Hugs and Smiles,
Celeste

Meet our Ohio Miss Job's Daughter!

Hello Ohio Job’s Daughters!  I am so very excited to be representing you for the 2011-2012 year.  So a little bit about me:
I was born here in Gahanna, Ohio then I moved to Ahwatukee, Arizona and lived there for about 10 years.   Then I moved back to Ohio and started at Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio, where I was involved in a ton of clubs and sports. This past year I graduated from Dublin Jerome and decided to head off to The University of Akron to major in Athletic Training.  A lot of people have asked why I chose this major, and it’s because I love the work environment.  I won’t be doing the same thing every day, and I have always loved sports.  I am proud to say that I was accepted into the Emerging Leaders program at Akron, so I will be involved with all the musicians, comedians, magicians, etc. that come to campus. And this means that I am in Richie Hall, if anyone wants to stop by and visit me!

I got involved in with Job’s daughters just about 3 years ago.  I am a Past Honored Queen of Bethel #28 in Columbus and your Ohio Miss Job’s Daughter for this year.  I am also coming to the end of my term as Sweetheart for Linden Chapter of DeMolay.  My dad works at Huntington Bank and my mom is at home for the time being.  I have a crazy black lab named Harley and a strange cat named Pumpkin.  When I am not at Job’s I can be found at the mall, at the pool, or at the movies!
Just so you know my phone is always on and my door is always open, so if anyone needs someone to talk to please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me!  I can’t wait to see you in my travels and I want to help make this year an awesome year for Ohio Job’s Daughters!!

Jobie Love,
Elizabeth

Hello from the Grand Guide

Hello!

I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself and family. I had never heard of Job's Daughters until my husband became involved as a Mason. I have been involved with Job's Daughters off and on for 28 years. I have three daughters, Kelly, Kris & Kit. I am a grandmother of six and recently a great grandmother of two. Two daughters, two granddaughters and a sister in law are PHQ's of Bethel #45. My youngest daughter is a Past Sr. Princess of #64 (all are Majority Members) and my in laws were PBG & PABG for Bethel #45. The best for last, and one Past Grand Guardian, Kris Smith. That is a lot of history!

I was raised in Grove City, Ohio and now live in Galloway, Ohio. My husband is Dave and he is the current WM of Avery Lodge #493 in Hilliard, Ohio. We enjoy boating and traveling. I have a dog named Molly (who is very spoiled) and 7 house "rabbits". Their names are, Petey, Timmy, Pandora, Louie, Otis, Stormy and my baby, Grizelda (whose picture is on my facebook profile). These rabbits were all abandoned and we adopted them. They have become our little "kids".

Now some news about District 1:

District 1 was well represented in two parades. On Saturday, July 2, 2011 our GBHQ Ashley and OMJD Elizabeth along with Alexis from Bethel #45, rode in the Reynoldsburg parade and represented Job's Daughters very well.

On July 4, 2011 we again had our OMJD Elizabeth and GBJP Cindy along with some of the GB officers and representatives. We also had a mom and a Jobie to Bee in the Hilliard Parade. It was a very long parade! After both parades we had cookouts and enjoyed the time together. Already making plans for next year parade!

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! Parades, cookouts, friends and family!!!! Nothing could be any better. I hope everyone had a good 4th of July and I am looking forward to Supreme Session.

Remember to wish the Ohio Messenger Team good luck in their competition!!
