H.I.K.E. fundraiser

Hello jobie sisters!
I hope that everyone is getting excited for the Skate for H.I.K.E. event. Being a figure skater I'm hoping to not fall on my hiney several times :P I'm looking forward to seeing all my jobie sisters and watching the adults skating/falling/skating with us :)
This year, at the Skate for H.I.K.E. event, I was hoping that each bethel would donate a basket for a silent auction. These baskets can contain anything and/or be themed if you would like, as long as everything in it is jobie appropriate :) All the proceeds will go to H.I.K.E. The baskets will be bid on at the event.
Ideas for baskets could be movie themed, jobie themed, and for the beginner skater a first aid kit with ice packs and padding. Be creative and have fun. It all goes to a good cause.
I hope that all the bethels will participate by donating a basket, enjoying the skating and maybe, you can go home with a basket of your own at this great fundraiser. I can't wait to see you at the skate for H.I.K.E.
Jobie love,
Celeste Prince

A Great Jobie Weekend and a lot of Chicken (Banquets)!

Last weekend many Daughters and Adults from all over the state traveled to Warren for Bethels 49 & 31's Official Visits.  Both Bethels had very nice OVs and had support from Bethel Sisters from several different Bethels.  Bethel 49 initiated a new member, named Brandie.  The Bethels had a nice lunch of soup and salad in between the meetings and there were many fun things available to see and purchase for HIKE.  Later that evening I had the opportunity to chill out and go swimming with the GBHQ Ashley, OMC Celeste and Alyssa P back at the hotel.  What a great way to relax after a long day of meetings!

The next day we traveled to Bethel 80 in Akron for their OV.  They had a great turnout and honored their Grand Bethel Officers and HIKE Rep.  They also initiated a new member, Cassie.  It was great to see so many people fill the sidelines and the Grand Bethel girls look fabulous in their Hot Pink Dresses!  It was a long weekend of Jobie fun, but lots of fun and fellowship was shared by all.

The next day, OMJD Elizabeth, Mr. Eisleben and myself, traveled to the Grand Council Banquet in Columbus.  We also attended the Grand Chapter banquet and the Grand Commandry banquet this week too.    Elizabeth represented Ohio Job's Daughters very well by giving 3 thoughtful and meaningful speaches throughout the week.  It was great to visit with DeMolay's State Master Councelor, Bob, and Rainbow's Grand Worthy Advisor, Holly, as well as many officers of the other Masonic bodies.  However, it did seem like we ate a whole lot of chicken!

We are now in the full swing of fall and the changing of the leaves is a beautiful sight.  I hope you all are enjoying the cooler weather and all the fun things that come with it, football, hayrides, pumpkins and bonfires.

Here are some of the coming events:
October 19 Bethel 10 & 69 OV @ Bethel 10 in Springfield 7pm
October 29 Bethel 22 & 71 OV @ Bethel 71 in Groveport 4pm, followed by the Fall Ball, all are welcome
October 30 Bethel 35 & 61 OV @ Bethel 35 in Girard 4pm, preceded by Niles Halloween parade @ 12pm
November 5 Statewide HIKE at Big Walnut Skate Club in Sunbury, Ohio 2:30pm

We hope to see you soon!
